Both cards are terrible. I suspect you have a PCI Express slot you use for your computer (if you do not know what it is, is another matter, and I suggest you study more).
Go with at least one 4850 (180 $) for some great frame rates. A 2600 XT will run from about $ 100, so go if your budget for 3870 ($ 105). The 3870 is much better under a 2600XT and lasts longer.

Well, I have the ATI Radeon HD 2600 and I can tell, even though it made for games that are very rough. I wouldnt suggest it. Conflicts with some games. Sims 2 for example.
